Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 2026
At OpenClaw, we prioritize your privacy. As a locally-hosted AI assistant, our philosophy is simple: Your Data, Your Machine.
1. Data Collection
OpenClaw runs predominantly on your local device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal chat history, files, or usage data to our servers.
- Local Usage: All interactions with local models (e.g., Llama 3 via Ollama) happen entirely on your device.
- Cloud Models: If you use cloud providers (Anthropic, OpenAI), data is sent directly from your machine to their APIs using your API keys. We do not proxy this traffic.
- Analytics: Our website uses privacy-friendly analytics (e.g., Plausible/PostHog) to track aggregate usage trends (visits, page views) without using persistent cookies or collecting PII.
2. Data Usage
Since we do not collect your personal data, we do not use it.
3. Third-Party Services
Our website may contain links to third-party sites (GitHub, Discord). We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
4. Updates
We may update this policy. Check back for changes.
